The model farm development represents the biggest diversification project the Watson Family have undertaken. A legacy project that will enhance and extend all the existing facilities the Estate offers.

The legacy project at Chillesford will preserve a unique range of 19^th century buildings representing 40,000 square feet of a fantastic Victorian Model Farm. Model farms were designed and built to offer the best environments for raising livestock and managing farms steadings, thus the range of buildings at Chillesford Lodge Estate are unparalleled in quality and design. Despite being agriculturally redundant and empty for nearly 50 years, they have been so meticulously maintained by the Watson family that when the project began to take shape, the buildings were in good order for conversion. Listed Grade 2 by Suffolk Coastal District Council, the buildings have attracted interest from organisations as diverse as The Suffolk Preservation Society, County Council Archaeological Service, the RSPB as well as numerous local History Groups and Societies. The redevelopment scheme has universal support at both National and Local level.

Once completed, the redevelopment project will double the number of properties on the Estate; offering a rare chance to live in a rural idyll yet only a short hop to shops, culture and fine dining. The Watson Family had a clear vision from the outset.
