Wheel House

Wheel House occupies part of the main grain store where the line shaft from the Ruston Engine was installed; from which there were various canvas belts and drive wheels which powered a chaft cutter, grain mill and oat crusher machine. Oats have to be crushed so that they can be easily digested by horses, which were the main stay of all farming activities before the purchase of the first estate tractor in 1944.
